If you have ever been shopping on Amazon, you’ll know exactly what I mean. On every product page, there is a widget at the bottom that recommends two other products for you to add to your order. If Amazon is doing it, chances are, we should be doing it too.

How to Add Frequently Bought Together Bundles/App
In order to create these bundles, we will need an app to do so. If you are using Shopify, I would recommend using this app. It is quite literally called, Frequently Bought Together, and will take care of this entire process for you:

There, we have already taken care of 90% of the process just by adding an app. That app is rather cheap as well, so it is a double-win.
The main benefit of offering bundles like this is it will increase your average order value. People will begin to add products to their order that they would not have normally added if this app wasn’t there. This app uses AI and machine learning to suggest products that go well together based on data from previous orders. If we can sell more products to people that would better solve their problems and/or improve their lives, then that is exactly what we should do.
The Top Tips For Doing This Successfully
There are a few things that you can keep in mind to improve the effectiveness of this:
1. Recommend three products. You can set this app up however you want, but I’d recommend three products (the original plus two more). This seems to be the sweet spot, and the most likely to convert.
2. You can offer a discount if they get the entire bundle. This is a good way to incentivize them to do so. Add on a 5-10% discount if they add the entire bundle. This works very well. Just make sure your profit margins can absorb the discount.
3. Use language in the headline of your bundle that indicates it is a special and/or limited-time offer, and change up the offer every so often. This will lead to a greater sense of urgency and scarcity and will make it more effective.
4, Pay close attention to the formating, especially on mobile. While this app is great, it can get jumbled and begin to look pretty poor if you don’t pay close attention to the formatting. Make sure it looks great, is properly sized, and is easy to read, and you shouldn’t have any problems.
Summary
Adding Frequently Bought Together bundles is one of the easiest ways to increase your average order value, which means more money in your pocket. Some costs such as advertising and shipping are fixed (or close to fixed) meaning they are the same price whether they spend $50 or $100 at your store. This means that if you can get people to add more products to their order, you will be making a lot more profit because you are adding more revenue to each order, without increasing any of the major costs. This is a great way to generate profit that can be used to hire employees, or to be reinvested into more advertising. It is such an easy win, and in my opinion, a *must-do* for every eCommerce Store.
